A Few Words from Jivoni Jordan

I normally don’t post about students but this hit me and inspired me so much.

Two brand new students took my Boot Camp class this morning. I would normally tell them to watch the class first then decide if it’s something they want to try, but they were adamant and wanted to do the class.

Those who take Boot Camp class know it’s very tough, very challenging and I push hard. These two had a hard time but never gave up. I tried to shorten the run for them but the gentleman said, “Can I just finish even if I walk it?” I said, “YES!”

Their determination really made me happy and proud. After class they both came up to me and said, “Thank you for pushing us. It’s was exactly what we needed and we promise we will do better next time.” I said, “I know you will. All you have to do is show up, I will take care of the rest.”

He went on to say that he will continue to do his best because he’s battling cancer, and he wants to fight it. It took everything in me to not cry (after I did). He told me he taught kids, and he needed to be strong and fight. I told him, “You guys just got a new fighter in your fight… ME!” I gave them a hug and told them I would see them again.

Even though they came to me for help they don’t realize how much they just helped and reminded me why I do this.
